ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (September 27, 2008) – The tenth ranked Rollins women's soccer team opened up their Sunshine State Conference season on the road, traveling to Eckerd College and recording a 3-0 victory over the Tritons. The Tars now sit with an overall mark of 8-0-1, 1-0-0 SSC, while the Tritons drop to 3-6-0, 0-3-0 in the conference.

Two-time defending Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year Lindsay Giblin scored the game winning goal of the evening off of an assist from Chelsea Brady in the 20 minute, giving the Tars a lead that would never be touched. Two minutes later, Brady would answer back with a quick, one-touch shot in between the pipes in a one, two, three fashion. Giblin connected on a pass to freshman Georgia Libert from a corner kick, and with a quick strike into the box Libert found her mark on Brady who fired the ball past the keeper.

Rollins would find the net one more time to complete the evening as Libert found a loose ball in the left wing and fired a shot into the right back corner of the goal with just seconds left to go in the match, giving the Tars their third 3-0 victory in a row.

The Tars dominated the stats, silencing the Tritons in shots 33-1, corner kicks 9-0, and overall play throughout the contest. Freshman goalkeeper Michelle Dillingham started in goal for the Tars, making a save on the only shot from Eckerd in the first half. Junior Stephanie Woelfel saw time in the second half without seeing any shots on goal from their conference opponent. Eckerd goalkeeper, Cory Hawkins, made 11 saves on the night.

The No. 10 Rollins women's soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday as they host Florida Tech in their second conference matchup of the season, and first conference showdown at home. The tenth-ranked Rollins will take on the nineteenth-ranked Panthers in a 7:30 p.m. double-header after the men take to the pitch at 5:00 p.m. Fans can watch and listen to all of the action live on the Citizen's Bank of Florida Tars Sports Network at www.RollinsSports.com.
