No. 5 Barry Moves Onto Finals With Win Over No. 9 Rollins

LAKELAND, Fla. (April 18, 2008) - The 9th-ranked Rollins men's tennis team was overwhelmed by the 5th-ranked Barry University Buccaneers 5-1 on Friday afternoon at the Beerman Tennis Complex.

The Tars won one of two doubles matches as Gustavo Carvalho and Pablo Seijo took their match in a tiebreaker against Jakub Fejfar and Emmanuel Fraitzl 9-8 in the No. 2. The 2nd-ranked team of Patrick Rittenauer and Ales Svigelj defeated No. 13 Brian Compton and Jonathan Gomez 9-7 in the top spot, while Andrew Sharnov and Roman Werschel rolled by Austin Duvall and Albin Hubscher 8-2 in the third slot.

The top three matches went unfinished as Sharnov defeated Carvalho 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 3, Werschel won his match against Duvall 6-2, 6-2 in the fifth position and Fejfar overwhelmed Andrew Johnson 6-0, 7-5 in the No. 6.

The Tars will be back in action tomorrow, April 19 when they take on the loser of the Lynn/Florida Southern semifinal for the third place conference finish.
