DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 15, 2008)'' The
seventh-ranked Rollins College women's tennis team won all three
doubles points en route to a 6-3 win over No. 9 Embry-Riddle,
Tuesday at the Crotty Tennis Complex. The Tars improved their
overall record to 20-1 on the year, while the Eagles closed out the
regular season at 10-6.
At No. 1 doubles, Roshni Luthra and Marnie Mahler topped Natasa
Zoricic and Hana Im 8-4. Margaret Junker and Sonia Bernal downed
Natalie Anaya and Lindsey Kurtz 8-3 and Silvia Frandji and
Anastasiya Shevchenko closed out the sweep with an 8-3 win over
Sara Abra'l and Marga Rico Jimenez.

In singles action, the Tars won out at the No. 4 through No. 6
spots as Junker topped Kurtz 6-1, 6-0, Frandji downed Rico Jimenez
6-2, 6-1 and Allie Steele held off Abra'l 7-5, 6-1.

Anaya earned the first win for the Eagles defeating Luthra 6-0, 6-4
at No. 3 and Im bested Shevchenko 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot. At
the first singles position, 12th-ranked Zoricic downed No. 13
Mahler 6-4, 6-2, handing the Rollins senior only her second loss of
the season.
The Tars will be back in action in the Sunshine State Conference
tournament which begins on Thursday April 17 in Lakeland.
