ATLANTA, Ga. (March 7, 2008) ' What originally
turned out to be a washout, turned into a victory for the Rollins
softball team on day one of the Clark-Atlanta Tournament as the
Tars downed Claflin 15-0 in five innings. Rollins was slated to
play West Alabama and Fort Valley State on Friday, but
thunderstorms moving through Georgia changed the schedule.
Rachael Foster picked up the win for Rollins, allowing just one
hit with 11 strikeouts in five innings. Rollins' entire line-up had
a big day as the Tars pounded out 17 hits in the game.
With the win, Rollins evened their record to 8-8 on the
season.
Rollins will compete in day two of the Clark-Atlanta Tournament
on Saturday, March 8. The Tars will play Claflin at 9 a.m., West
Florida at 1 p.m. and Stillman College at 3 p.m.
