WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 14, 2008) ' A four-run seventh inning propelled the Rollins baseball team to a 6-4 come-from-behind victory over American International at a soggy Alfond Stadium on Friday afternoon.' The Tars improved to 19-6-1 overall with the win, dropping the Yellow Jackets to 1-6.

Down 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh, senior center fielder Corey Whiting started the rally with a leadoff triple to right center.' Sophomore shortstop Ryan Luker followed with a triple of his own to the corner in right field to tie the game at three.' The next two runs came in on a bases loaded hit-by-pitch and a fielder's choice, giving Rollins a lead they would hold until the end.

Junior reliever Michael Eppich (1-0) picked up the win out of relief, going two and two thirds innings with one run on four hits, no walks, and one strikeout.' Sophomore right-hander Chad Giannuzzi pitched the final one and one third innings without a run, picking up his first save of the season.

Luker and Whiting each had two hits for the Tars, and senior third baseman Gene Howard went 3-5 with three singles.' The production was spread throughout the lineup, as five different players picked up an RBI.

AIC starter Nick Noblit was credited with the loss, allowing four runs, three earned, through six-plus innings.' First baseman Kevin Farrell led the Yellow Jackets' lineup, going 2-4 with two runs and a two-run homerun.

Rollins will return to Sunshine State Conference play with a doubleheader against Florida Tech on Saturday, March 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Alfond Stadium.' Fans can listen to all the action live on the Citizens Bank of Florida Tars Sports Network at www.RollinsSports.tv.
