Behind Jessica Pressley's 23 points, the Tars moved on to defeat
the Eckerd College Tritons 67-60 on Saturday afternoon at the
McArthur Center. Rollins improves to 18-9 overall and 8-8 in
conference play. The Tritons fall to 15-12 and 5-11 in the SSC.
Pressley notched 23 point going 8-14 from the floor and 6-10
from long range. Jennifer Musgrove followed close behind posting a
double-double of 22 points and 15 boards adding five assists. Ines
Teuma chipped in four points while grabbing 12 rebounds for the
Tars.
In a game that had five tied scores and four lead changes, the
Tars took the lead at the half, 27-26 with two good free throws
from Musgrove.
Rollins kept the lead over Eckerd as the Tritons were able to
tie the score three times. With the score tied at 38-38 with 12:22
left in the second half, Pressley knocked down a layup to give the
Tars the lead for the remainder of the game.
Two Tritons scored in double-digits as Samantha Infantino
tallied 17 points and eight rebounds, while Javiera Novion added 15
points, three rebounds and thee assists.
The Tars (18-9, 8-8) will be back in action on Tuesday, March 4
for the opening round of the Sunshine State Conference tournament.
