WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 1, 2008) ' Rollins dropped a pair of SSC games to Barry Saturday, falling 4-1 in the 11 inning game one and 6-0 in the night cap. The losses drop the Tars to 3-8 overall and 0-3 in Sunshine State Conference play.

Sherri Rabenold led the Rollins bats in the marathon game one, going 2-5 with an RBI and run scored. Christine Roser and Laruen Starcher were also 2-5 in the game with Kayla McCraney, Ingrid Schumacher and Missy Thogmartin each belting out a hit.

In game two, Thogmartin and Monica Meadows each went 1-3 to pace the Rollins offense.

Nicole Anderson went the distance in the opener, allowing four runs on 11 hits with eight strikeouts and no walks in 11 innings. Schumacher suffered the game two loss, allowing seven hits and two runs with a strikeout in three innings.

Amber Jack earned wins in both games for the Buccaneers (16-3, 3-0 SSC) with Shyla Rider, Ashley Likens and Megan Young each tallying four hits in the day to lead the offense.

In game one, the Tars took a 1-0 lead in the third as Rabenold singled to center, stole second and eventually scored on an error by the Bucs third baseman. Barry took the lead in the sixth behind a string of four straight base hits, making the score 2-1. McCraney led off the Tars seventh with a double and was replaced on the paths by Morgan Frost. A sac bunt by Rachael Foster moved her to third and a Rabenold single drove her home for the tying run. The game remained that way until the top of the 11th when Barry rapped out three hits and plated two runs.

The night cap was controlled by Barry from the start as they manufactured a 1-0 lead in the first. The advantage went to 2-0 in the third then 4-0 after four. The Bucs put it away in the seventh with two more runs to complete the weekend sweep.

Rollins will return to action on Monday, March 3 at home against Lake Superior State. First pitch for game one is slated for 6 p.m.
