WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 31, 2008) Two
men's soccer players and three women received recognition on the
CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District team, it was
announced Thursday.
Thomas Biddinger and Blade Zych earned second team honors for
the Rollins men with Chelsea Brady and Lindsay Giblin landing on
the women's second team. Mia Ryan was honored on the third
team.
Zych leads the Tars with six goals on the season and 13 points
in his first action with Rollins. The Altamonte Springs native
recorded a hat trick earlier in the season and has two game winning
goals. Biddinger, a junior defender, has a goal and an assist on
the year while tallying the second most minutes on the team.
Two-time SSC Player of the Year Giblin has seven goals and 18
points to lead the eighth ranked Tars women. Brady is second on the
team with six goals and four assists for 16 points. Ryan has been a
force on the back line, playing the second most minutes on the team
while also scoring a goal and two assists.
The Rollins men will conclude their regular season on Friday,
October 31 at Barry. The women have a busy last weekend, hosting
SSC leader Florida Southern on Halloween night and making up a game
against Saint Leo at home Sunday.
