Rollins Women Fifth at SSC Rowing Championships

TAMPA, Fla. (April 14, 2007) ' The Rollins women's rowing team tallied three points in Saturday's Sunshine State Conference Championships and place fifth. Nova Southeastern earned the team title with 20 points with Florida Tech (13 points) finishing runner-up. Barry (10 points), Tampa (6 points) and Rollins rounded out the field.

The Tars Varsity 8+ of Colleen Reagan, Kim Lucy, Katherine Lane, Katie Broome, Erica Tibbetts, Kimberly Dirschka, Chelsi Wilkerson, Elizabeth McDonald and Rachel Todd finished fourth with a time of 6:54.92. NSU took the medal (6:18.60), followed by Florida Tech (6:26.37) and Barry (6:30.34).

In the Varsity 4+, Donna Pola, Kim Lucy, Katherine Lane, Katie Broome and Erica Tibbetts took fifth in a time of 7:49.93. Nova Southeastern won in 7:28.70 with Tampa (7:34.99) coming in second and Barry (7:42.54) taking third.

The Rollins women's rowing team will be back on the water on April 20-22 at the SIRA Championships in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
