WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 8, 2007) ' The Rollins
men's tennis team bounced back by tallying a big win over Grand
Valley State Lakers 8-1 on Thursday afternoon at the Martin Tennis
Complex.
The Tars (5-3)'fell in the No. 1 doubles match, but came back
and won the second and third spots. Jonathan Gomez and Brian
Compton dropped their match against Tony Dang and Adam Sandusky 9-7
in the first seed. The No. 2 doubles team of Adrian Tan and Michael
Schwartz ran past Patrick Troy and Justin Sauerbrey 8-5. Pablo
Seijo and Gustavo Carvalho downed Alex Switzer and Matt Globerson
8-6 in the No. 3 slot.
Rollins swept all six singles match to seal the win against the
Lakers. Tan defeated Sandusky 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 position, while
Gomez controlled his match over Dang 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 2.
Carvalho came out on top against Troy 6-1, 4-6, 10-5 in the third
match. Seijo dominated Plangger 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 spot, and
Albin Hubscher trounced Globerson 6-2, 6-1 in the fifth position.
Senior Noah John played a close match against Switzer, but won 7-6,
6-4 in the No. 6.
Rollins will be back in action on Sunday, March 11 when they
