The Tars are coming off of a 13 day stretch with no games after
losing their home SSC opener to Tampa 61-49 on December 1, 2007.'
The time off has hopefully left the Tars more level-headed after
their game against Tampa.' It took 20 attempts in the first half
before Rollins was able to finally get a field goal, and while the
rest of the game was hard fought, the Tars were never able to get
ahead of the Spartans.
IN THE RANKINGS
The Rollins women's team has been named 2nd in the Sunshine State
Conference preseason poll. The Tars collected 39 points and six
first place votes, falling behind University of Tampa with a total
of 34 points and 10 first place nominations, and ahead of Florida
Tech with 56 points and only one first place vote.
LOOKING AHEAD
After today's game against the Flagler College Saints, the Rollins
women will take another long break until the end of the month when
they will travel up to Albany, Georgia, to play Fort Valley State
on the 28th and Albany State on the 29th.' It will be the Tars'
first time on the road, and the closeout to their 2007 season.
SERIES VS. THE SAINTS
Rollins is currently ahead of Flagler in the series
21-11.
SCOUTING THE TARS
Senior Jennifer Musgrove currently leads the Tars in scoring (13.2
ppg), assists (4.8 apg), blocks (1.0 bpg), and steals (3.0 spg).'
Junior Ines Teuma leads in rebounds averaging 8.4 per game.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
The Saints are currently on a three-game road trip streak to end
their 2007 season.' 0-5 in Sunshine State Conference play, they
will have to rely heavily on star Brittney Garmon who leads Flager
in scoring (12.9 ppg), and rebounding (11.2 rpg).
LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Tars and Saints met on the court was on January
31, 2007.' Rollins was able to trounce Flagler in a home court
advantage win with a final score of 81-48.' Jessica Barker, and
Jessica Pressley were able to pull in 13 points each, with
Brittainy Daiger following close behind with 10.
