WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 15, 2006) ' Rollins won the number
four, five, and six singles matches each by shutout as the Tars
women's tennis team downed Embry-Riddle 6-3 on Wednesday. The win
evens Rollins record at 2-2 on the year with the Eagles falling to
2-5.

Visiting Embry-Riddle took the No. 1 doubles match with Nora Kulge
and Alex Buttazzoni winning over Tasi Purcell and Marnie Mahler,
8-6. The Tars scored wins in the other two positions as Sonia
Bernal and Anastasiya Shevchenko downed Nat Anaya and Lindsey Kurtz
8-6 at No. 2 doubles and Cassie Webster and Silvia Frandji took
Rachel Lund and Evan Halhuber 8-0 in the No. 3 match.

Shevchenko, Frandji and Webster dominated their singles matches
with Mahler also scoring a win, to lead Rollins to victory.
Shevchenko downed Kurtz 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 match, Frandji won
6-0, 6-0 over Lund in the No. 5 match and Webster won 6-0, 6-0 over
Halbhuber. Mahler won the No. 2 match for the Tars, defeating Anaya
6-3, 6-3.

Kulge downed Purcell 6-3, 6-3 in the No. 1 position while
Buttazzoni won over Bernal by default at the No. 3 singles
match.

The
Rollins women's tennis team will be back in action on Saturday,
February 18 in a key Sunshine State Conference match-up against
rival Lynn. Competition is set to begin at 10 a.m.
