Hugo 16th to Lead Tars at Flrunners.com Invitational

TITUSVIVLLE, Fla. (October 3, 2008) – Jesse Hugo finished 16th to lead the men and Kristina Goodwin paced the Tars women at the flrunners.com Invitational on Friday night.

As a team, the Rollins men were seventh with 206 points. Florida International won with 37 points while Nova Southeastern finished second with 39. Rollins was ninth in the women's event with 228 points. UCF won with 19 points and Miami was second with 69.

Jesse Hugo stopped the clock at 27:30 to finish 16th and lead the Rollins men in the 8k race. Aleks Markovic finished 48th for Rollins in 30:04 while Shelby Burks took 55th in 30:21. Rob Hoffman was a few steps back in 60th place in 31:08 and Tyler Cloutier was 72nd in 33:19. John Watson finished 73rd with a time of 33:37.

Kristina Goodwin's time of 20:43 and 35th place finish paced the Rollins women. Kelly Sorren was 61st in 22:08, Salem Willis finished 63rd in 22:08 and Kelly Rolfes-Haase took 64th in 22:16. Brittney Cross finished 67th for the Tars with a time of 22:24, Tawny Najjar was 88th in 24:35 and Katie Powell finished 96th in 25:25.

The Rollins harriers will be back on the course on Friday, October 17 at the Stetson Hatter Invitational in Deland.
