Tirado Earns SSC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

Junior Middle Blocker Earns First Player of the Week of her Career


MELBOURNE, Fla. (November 13, 2017) – After leading the team in blocks on the weekend, Rollins junior middle blocker Kerra Tirado has been named Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday.  This marks the first SSC Defensive Player of the Week award for Tirado in her career.

Tirado the Tars at the net, posting up 10 blocks on the weekend.  Against Nova Southeastern, The Silver Spring, Md. native put up three assisted blocks, as well as the Tars' lone solo stop, while adding five kills on a .333 attack percentage, and one dig.  In Rollins' come-from-behind five set victory over Barry on Saturday afternoon, Tirado led the team with six blocks while adding six kills, and two digs.

The Tars return to action on Friday, November 17, for their final match of the regular season.  Rollins travels to Boca Raton to take on the Lynn Fighting Knights in a 7 p.m. matchup in the de Hoernle Center on the campus of Lynn University.  Fans who are unable to attend the match will be able to find links to live coverage on RollinsSports.com.
