Rollins Takes Slight Slide in National Poll

WINTER PARK, Fla. (December 5, 2017) – After splitting two games last week, Rollins took a slight fall in both NCAA Division II National Rankings, it was released Tuesday.


The Tars dropped six spots to No. 12 in the WBCA Coaches Poll and fell three places in the D2SIDA Media Poll to No. 8.

Rollins beat then 20th ranked Embry-Riddle 66-60 to open play last week, but dropped a 78-60 decision at Barry on Saturday.

Ashland and Alaska Anchorage continue have a stranglehold on the top-two spots with Ashland nearly unanimous at No. 1 in both polls. The coaches have Bentley at No. 3 and Indiana (Pa.) is in the third slot by the media.

The Tars remained the only school from the Sunshine State Conference or South Region in the WBCA ranking. Union and Embry-Riddle received votes.

Union at No. 17 and North Alabama at No. 23 join the Tars in the D2SIDA Poll while Eckerd received votes.
