WINTER PARK, Fla. (Mach 23, 2018) – The Tars could not handle the newly minted top team in the nation, the Barry Bucs, falling 9-0 on Friday afternoon.  With the defeat the Tars fall to 6-9 overall and 1-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. Barry improves to 12-1 and 4-0 in conference action.

Nicolo De Fraia and Luke Horan battled to the bitter end in the top doubles position for Rollins, but ultimately fell to Fernando Tous and Filip Zupancic, the No. 48 partnership in the nation, 8-6.

Guillermo De Nicolas-Ruiz and Ziad Melhaoui each forced third sets in their singles matches for the Tars.  Nicolas-Ruiz recovered from a first set loss in the second spot, but could not complete the comeback.  Melhaoui took the first set on the fourth court, but was tripped up in the end, 3-6, 6-2, 10-7.

Rollins will continue the SSC gauntlet next Wednesday, March 28, when they travel to Daytona Beach to take on the No. 8 Embry-Riddle Eagles.  First serve is set for 3:30 p.m.
