KANSAS CITY, Mo. (September 13, 2017) – Despite taking a week off from competition due to Hurricane Irma, the Tars climbed into the NCAA Division II United Soccer Coaches National Poll, coming in at No. 21, it was announced Tuesday.
Fans can see the full poll here.
The Tars are one of three Sunshine State Conference teams among the top-25. Lynn leads the way, the Fighting Knights capturing the fourth spot, while Palm Beach Atlantic comes in at No. 10.
Rollins currently sits at 1-0-1 on the year. The Tars opened the season with a back-and-forth 3-3 draw against Lees-McRae, before upending top-ranked, and defending National Champion, Wingate, in a 2-1 contest.
The Tars were scheduled to play their home opener against West Florida on Friday, and to follow that up with a match against Spring Hill on Sunday, but the hurricane forced the cancellation of those two contests.
Rollins now turns their attentions to Southeastern. The Tars will visit the Fire at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 16. Rollins new home opener is now slated for Wednesday, September 20, when Rollins will host SSC rival Florida Southern at Barker Family Stadium.
