The Rollins men’s rowing team entered two events at the 2018 FIRA Championships over the weekend, hosted at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota. The Tars Novice 4 took silver to highlight the Tars weekend of racing.
The Rollins men’s rowing team traveled to the site of the 1996 Olympics for the 2018 John Hunter Regatta on Lake Lanier over the weekend.
The setting on Lake Maitland could not have been better for the final home regatta of the spring season with sunny skies, no wind and flat water. Unfortunately for Rollins, the results didn’t match the conditions as the Tars fell to the University of Florida in each of the five races.
Rollins welcomed Embry-Riddle to Lake Maitland for a mid-week competition, hosting the TARS Regatta Wednesday morning. The schools rowed six events (Varsity 8, JV 8, Varsity 4, Varsity 4 “B”, Novice 4 and Pair) with the Tars winning the JV 8 and Pair.
